Domestic Violence Advocate Full Time Bilingual (SP) Preferred

Turning Point Domestic Violence Services is seeking a qualified Full Time  Advocate in Bartholomew County, Billngual (SP) Preferred

 

This position requires a minimum of 2 years of either educational or volunteer experience in the field(s) of Domestic Abuse, Social Services, Mental Health or a related field. Bilingual candidates (SP) preferred. This is an entry level position and training will be provided. Candidates will be asked to maintain professional boundaries in adherence to NASW Code of Ethics and have professional experience working with culturally diverse, at-risk families. This role works together with non-residential case managers and emergency shelter staff to meet the immediate needs of survivors. The role is charged with creating a welcoming and responsive environment for survivors.  The position requires the ability to multi-task, while working as part of a team in a fast- paced environment.

This is a full time 40 hour per week position that could work well with a student schedule.

Salary: $28,000 per year

Domestic Violence Service Advocate - 4 Days Full-time

Great opportunity for a full-time advocate position serving survivors of domestic violence in Bartholomew County in our emergency residential shelter.

 

This is a full time 40 hour per week position working 4 - 10 hour days per week. Schedule will be 3 weekdays and I weekend day during the hours of 3PM-1AM

This is a schedule that could work very well with a school schedule.

 

Background may include Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related field. 2 years direct service or bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Responsibilities include answering helpline, client intake, safety planning, facility management and security, record keeping and maintenance of referral information and meeting client needs in a safe, clean, welcoming environment. 
Candidate must have the ability to maintain professional boundaries in adherence to NASW Code of Ethics.

 

Base salary $13.50 per hour determined commensurate with experience. 

 

Vacation, PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision and Life benefits eligible with employer match retirement plan.  40 hours initial orientation and training will be provided.
